Lacombe, AB – June 26, 2026 – 4-H Alberta is pleased to announce the election of three new members to its Board of Directors, following the organization’s Annual General Meeting held this past weekend in Lacombe, Alberta. These individuals bring a wealth of experience, passion for youth development, and a deep commitment to the continued growth and success of 4-H across the province.

Rhonda Clarke-Gauthier, Area Director Peace

Rhonda Clarke-Gauthier is a respected agricultural leader and lifelong 4-H supporter from Alberta’s Peace Region. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and operates a grain and oilseed farm while also serving as Executive Director of the Mighty Peace Watershed Alliance. Rhonda brings extensive experience in governance, strategic planning, and community leadership, alongside decades of involvement in 4-H as a member, leader, staff, and volunteer. A 2023 inductee into the Alberta 4-H Hall of Fame, she is committed to strengthening the organization to ensure it continues to provide meaningful opportunities for youth and communities across Alberta.

 

Austin Andrew, Area Director East/West Central

Austin Andrew brings a lifelong connection to 4-H, having spent 11 years as a member of the Dryland Multi Club where he participated in beef, cooking, and lamb projects. A former regional ambassador and camp counsellor, Austin has remained actively involved through judging, facilitation, and leadership roles. Currently serving as an Assistant Store Manager with UFA, Austin has been a member of the 4-H Alberta Board since 2023 and chairs the Strategic Growth and Community Engagement Committee. He is passionate about building on the organization’s momentum and ensuring 4-H remains a leading youth organization in Alberta. “Setting the program up for the future is not a want—it is a need,” says Andrew.

 

Jennifer Finnie, Youth Director

Jennifer Finnie joins the Board as Youth Director, representing the voice of 4-H members across the province. A senior member of the Lakeview 4-H Multi Club and recent high school graduate, Jennifer has demonstrated exceptional leadership through her involvement in multiple projects, executive roles, and regional ambassador programming. She has represented 4-H at both provincial and national levels and is a strong advocate for youth engagement and development. Jennifer is eager to bring fresh perspectives to the Board and ensure youth voices remain central as the organization continues to evolve.

“These new Directors reflect the strength, diversity, and dedication of the 4-H community,” said 4-H Alberta Board Chair, Syeda Khurram. “Their leadership and experience will help guide 4-H Alberta as we continue to grow, adapt, and deliver impactful programming for youth across the province.”

4-H Alberta extends its congratulations to the newly elected Directors and looks forward to their contributions in advancing the organization’s mission of developing responsible, caring, and contributing leaders who are making a positive impact in their communities.
