4-H Alberta Elects New Chair, Executive Team and Welcomes New Directors

Calgary, AB – June 24, 2025 – 4-H Alberta is proud to announce the election of a new Chair of the Board and the appointment of a dynamic executive team, alongside the addition of four new directors. These leadership transitions mark an exciting new chapter for the organization as it continues to empower and inspire youth across the province.

Syeda Khurram has been elected as Chair of the Board of Directors. A passionate advocate for youth development and inclusive leadership, Syeda brings over 20 years of executive experience in non-profit governance, financial stewardship, and transformational leadership. Having previously served as Vice-Chair and Director of Diversity, Syeda’s appointment signals a renewed focus on growth, innovation, and stronger community engagement.

Joining her on the executive team are:

Vice-Chair: Arlene Good, Area Director, Calgary/South
Treasurer: Wesley Novotny, Diversity Director
Secretary: Simone Demers-Collins, Diversity Director

Following the 4-H Alberta AGM, the board warmly welcomes four newly elected directors to the Board:

Leslie Majeau, Area Director, North West
Gayelene Bonenfant, Diversity Director
Jacob Goldmann, Diversity Director
Jordyn Prior, Area Director, North East

4-H Alberta also acknowledges the outstanding leadership and ongoing commitment of its current board members: Grace Tabler, Youth Director; Nora Paulovich, Area Director, Peace; Austin Andrew, Area Director, East/West Central; and Christine MacTaggart, Diversity Director in her capacity as Past Board Chair.
