4-H Alberta Celebrates Key Leaders and Launches New Legacy Leaders Initiative

Westerose, AB – June 22, 2026 – 4-H Alberta extends its sincere gratitude to the dedicated Key Leaders who attended Friday’s recognition event and have faithfully served youth, volunteers, and communities across the province.

Honouring the Impact of Key Leaders

For many years, Key Leaders have played a vital role in strengthening the 4-H program through mentorship, leadership development, volunteer support, and community engagement. Their commitment has helped shape generations of young leaders and has contributed significantly to the success and growth of 4-H Alberta throughout Districts, Regions and the province as a whole.

“On behalf of our members, volunteers, staff, and Board of Directors, we want to thank every Key Leader for their dedication and service,” said Tracy Gardner CEO of 4-H Alberta. “Their passion for youth development and commitment to the 4-H pledge has left a lasting impact on our organization and the communities we serve.”

As 4-H Alberta continues to evolve to meet the needs of today’s members and leaders, the organization is excited to introduce the Legacy Leaders Program. This enhanced leadership initiative builds upon the strong foundation established by Key Leaders while providing increased training, clearer role expectations, expanded resources, and a focused approach to district and regional support.

The Legacy Leaders Program has been designed to:

Strengthen volunteer development and mentorship opportunities.
Provide consistent, province-wide training and support.
Enhance communication and regional engagement.
Create sustainable leadership pathways for the future of 4-H Alberta.
Ensure members remain at the centre of every decision and program initiative.

The new program reflects 4-H Alberta’s commitment to delivering a consistent, relevant, and sustainable experience for members, leaders, and volunteers across the province. Current and prospective volunteers interested in becoming Legacy Leaders are encouraged to learn more about the program and the exciting opportunities available to help shape the future of 4-H Alberta.
