Westerose, AB – August 18, 2025 – 4-H Alberta is excited to welcome Kayla Rathwell as the new Area Coordinator for the East Central Region!.
Kayla was born and raised just northeast of Camrose and still lives on the same land she grew up on. She’s a proud mom to two energetic boys, ages 8 and 2, and at home her family looks after chickens, a dog, and a cat on what she lovingly calls their “funny farm.”
4-H has always been an important part of Kayla’s life. She started out with the Camrose Easy Riders Light Horse Club before moving to the Roundhill Riders, and she took part in every summer camp at Battle Lake. She also enjoyed serving as a camp counsellor at LTCS (now YLEAD) and attended Selections (now Spring Senior Symposium), where she was thrilled to receive a trip to Ottawa.
“4-H was always a large part of my life growing up, and I am so grateful for the experiences and friendships it gave me,” Kayla shares. “Now, I’m excited to give back to the program and support today’s members as they build their own 4-H stories.”
Kayla studied Land Reclamation at Olds College and has built a diverse career, working as a weed inspector with Leduc County, a Pharmacy Assistant at the Camrose Hospital, and most recently as a vegetation permissioner with Battle River Power COOP.
“I can’t wait to connect with our members, leaders, and families across East Central,” Kayla adds. “The 4-H spirit is something I’ve carried with me all my life, and I’m excited to bring that energy into this role.”
Members, leaders, and families in the East Central Region can reach Kayla directly at aceastcentral@4hab.com or by phone at 587-322-8305.
We’re thrilled to have Kayla on the 4-H Alberta team, and we know her passion, experience, and enthusiasm will make a positive impact across the East Central Region.
