April Aspden was born and raised in central Alberta. Her roots in agriculture began at a young age growing up on her family’s mixed farm, where she was an active 4-H Beef Club member for 10 years. She was a past 4-H Ambassador and the recipient of several award trips and 4-H scholarships.
April studied Business at Red Deer College and has been working in agricultural-based financial roles for 20-plus years.
April, her husband and their two daughters, ages 14 and 7, currently reside near Alix, Alberta where they have a small cow/calf farm operation. She is the project leader for her daughter’s horse club this year and has been involved as a parent volunteer for several years. April also keeps involved volunteering with various clubs and groups throughout the community.
When not working or keeping busy with the farm and her children’s many activities, April enjoys camping and spending time in the outdoors.
