The 4-H Alberta Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding individuals who have dedicated themselves to the 4-H community as volunteers, embodying exceptional leadership and commitment to youth. Established in 1971 by Premier Lougheed, this Hall of Fame is a testament to the dedication and achievements of its inductees.

Arlene Good’s journey with 4-H began as a member in Saskatchewan, later becoming a 4-H leader in Alberta, where she dedicated herself to the Brooks & Area and John Ware 4-H Beef Club. Her passion for rural youth development shines through in her roles as a leader, judge, and mentor. Arlene has spearheaded numerous programs, including the Newell District 4-H Judging Club, sheep and dairy projects, and regional judging workshops. Her commitment to lifelong learning led her to create educational videos, enhancing accessibility for 4-H members across the province and beyond.

As Chair of the Alberta Provincial Sheep Show and a pivotal figure in Summer Synergy, Arlene has been instrumental in expanding these programs, fostering strategic dialogue, and strengthening community bonds. Her efforts have led to increased sponsorships, participation, and new learning opportunities for members. Known for her warmth and humour, Arlene is a beloved chaperone for youth trips, including the recent Setting Sails trip to Scotland, where her dedication ensured a memorable experience for all participants.

4-H Alberta Board Chair Christine Suominem shared the board’s admiration: “The 4-H Alberta Board of Directors is excited to recognize Arlene for her significant contributions to the 4-H community by inducting her into the 4-H Alberta Hall of Fame. As a long-time leader in our organization, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to improving 4-H programs both locally and across the province.”
