Regional Communications: March 22/25 @ Strathmore Civic Centre

Calgary Region Horse Show: August 7-10, Westerner Park in Red Deer 

Aggie Days: Aggie Days at the Stampede Grounds is looking for volunteers from our 4-H community to help in various capacities. You can volunteer individually or as a club. Here are some of the areas that we are invited to volunteer at:

Ambassadors: Helping people find their way around Aggie Days (6 people per shift – doesn’t have to be all from one club)
Saturday April 12 10am-1pm and/or 1pm-4pm
Sunday April 13 10am -12:30pm and/or 12:30pm – 3pm
Bluebell: Ensure the artificial cow has water for milking/crowd control/talk to guests
Saturday April 12 10am-1pm and/or 1pm-4pm
Sunday April 13 10am -12:30pm and/or 12:30pm – 3pm

 

Earth Care (recycling): Describe and use the display to show how farm waste is recycled into usable products (3 people per shift – doesn’t have to be all from one club)
Saturday April 12 10am-1pm and/or 1pm-4pm
Sunday April 13 10am -12:30pm and/or 12:30pm – 3pm

 

Forages on the Farm: Explain to the public was foraging on the farm is (3 people per shift – doesn’t have to be all from one club)
Saturday April 12 10am-1pm and/or 1pm-4pm
Sunday April 13 10am -12:30pm and/or 12:30pm – 3pm

 

Grain Display: volunteer should know about types of grains and what products are made of the grains (4 people per shift – doesn’t have to be all from one club)
Saturday April 12 10am-1pm and/or 1pm-4pm
Sunday April 13 10am -12:30pm and/or 12:30pm – 3pm

 

Horse Display: Have knowledge about horses and be able to talk to the public ( 2 people per shift – doesn’t have to be all from one club)
Saturday April 12 10am-1pm and/or 1pm-4pm
Sunday April 13 10am -12:30pm and/or 12:30pm – 3pm

 

Rope Making: help public make take home rope with manual rope maker (10 people per shift – doesn’t have to be all from one club)
Saturday April 12 10am-1pm and/or 1pm-4pm
Sunday April 13 10am -12:30pm and/or 12:30pm – 3pm

 

There are other opportunities, plus shifts during the day, from Wednesday to Friday. If you are interested in any of these, please email Michael directly at michaelisakeit@gmail.com.


Did you know that St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated annually on March 17? This celebration started in the 9th century. Did you also know that Saint Patrick was not Irish? He was born in Roman Britain.
