Opportunity for 4-H Alberta Legacy Leaders:

As 4-H Alberta continues to evolve to meet the needs of today’s members and leaders, the organization is excited to introduce the Legacy Leaders Program. This enhanced leadership initiative builds upon the strong foundation established by Key Leaders while providing increased training, clearer role expectations, expanded resources, and a focused approach to district and regional support.

The Legacy Leaders Program has been designed to:
  • Strengthen volunteer development and mentorship opportunities.
  • Provide consistent, province-wide training and support.
  • Enhance communication and regional engagement.
  • Create sustainable leadership pathways for the future of 4-H Alberta.
  • Ensure members remain at the centre of every decision and program initiative.

The new program reflects 4-H Alberta’s commitment to delivering a consistent, relevant, and sustainable experience for members, leaders, and volunteers across the province. Current and prospective volunteers interested in becoming Legacy Leaders are encouraged to learn more about the program and the exciting opportunities available to help shape the future of 4-H Alberta.

At 4-H Alberta we foster an encouraging community that cultivates amazing leaders. Our Summer Camps provide a safe space for youth to create memories, learn new things, and form lasting friendships.

Opportunity for the 2026 Summer Season: 4-H Alberta is now hiring for the 2026 Summer Season! The Summer Camp Staff is responsible for creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers of all ages. This role involves helping to lead daily activities, supporting camper needs, and helping to execute the camp’s program schedule. The ideal candidate is energetic, creative, and enjoys working with children and youth in a team-oriented environment. Successful candidates will be creative, compassionate, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Position Details:
  • Starting Wage: $15 + based on experience and qualifications
  • Start Date:
    • May 1, 2026, or
    • June 22, 2026.
  • End Date: August 28, 2026
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Location:
    • May-June: 4-H Alberta Centre, Battle Lake
    • July-August: one of our 4 Camp Locations- South, Battle Lake, Northeast, Peace
  • Accommodations: Provided
  • Meals: During working hours meals provided during July and August at various camp locations
  • Overnight stays at programs, some scheduled weekends will be required – Schedules provided at the start of position
Responsibilities Include:
  • Run program areas including but not limited to Low Ropes, Archery, Waterfront, Themed Activity Blocks, games, crafts
  • Option to work in a kitchen and get hands-on kitchen experience. Training provided.
  • Communicate with fellow 4-H Alberta staff
  • Help with supervision and safety of youth and volunteers.
  • Managing conflict or incidents during programs
  • Completing prep and wrap-up tasks for each program
Position Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain a clear police check with a vulnerable sector check
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Comfortable instructing and working directly with youth
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Passionate about creating an inclusive environment
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED (Level C) certification, or ability to obtain
Preference for:
  • Lifeguard certification; current or ability to obtain
  • Experience working with youth, specifically in youth programming or summer camps
