The 4-H Alberta Board of Directors represents a diversity of backgrounds and experiences from all regions of the province with the skills and commitment required to steward 4-H Alberta.
An upcoming vacancy exists on the 4-H Alberta Board of Directors for a Youth Director. The Governance & Nominating Committee is now seeking applications from interested youth members.
- The Youth Director (18-21 years of age) is nominated by the Governance & Nominating Committee following consultation with youth general members, in accordance with established procedures.
- The Youth Director is elected by the voting members of 4-H Alberta at the AGM.
- The term of office is two years and is non-renewable.
- Following completion of their Youth Director term, an individual may be eligible to serve as a Director of the Board if elected by the voting members.

Opportunity for the 2026 Summer Season: 4-H Alberta is now hiring for the 2026 Summer Season! The Summer Camp Staff is responsible for creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers of all ages. This role involves helping to lead daily activities, supporting camper needs, and helping to execute the camp’s program schedule. The ideal candidate is energetic, creative, and enjoys working with children and youth in a team-oriented environment. Successful candidates will be creative, compassionate, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Starting Wage: $15 + based on experience and qualifications
- Start Date:
- May 1, 2026, or
- June 22, 2026.
- End Date: August 28, 2026
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Location:
- May-June: 4-H Alberta Centre, Battle Lake
- July-August: one of our 4 Camp Locations- South, Battle Lake, Northeast, Peace
- Accommodations: Provided
- Meals: During working hours meals provided during July and August at various camp locations
- Overnight stays at programs, some scheduled weekends will be required – Schedules provided at the start of position
- Run program areas including but not limited to Low Ropes, Archery, Waterfront, Themed Activity Blocks, games, crafts
- Option to work in a kitchen and get hands-on kitchen experience. Training provided.
- Communicate with fellow 4-H Alberta staff
- Help with supervision and safety of youth and volunteers.
- Managing conflict or incidents during programs
- Completing prep and wrap-up tasks for each program
- Ability to obtain a clear police check with a vulnerable sector check
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Comfortable instructing and working directly with youth
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Passionate about creating an inclusive environment
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED (Level C) certification, or ability to obtain
- Lifeguard certification; current or ability to obtain

- Planning and implementing safe, inclusive, and fun programming
- Developing and preparing summer program content and activities
- Coordinate and communicate with fellow 4-H Alberta staff
- Driving 4-H vehicles to and from assigned summer programs
- Overseeing daily operations, including supervision and safety of youth, staff, and volunteers.

- Completing pre program prep and wrap-up tasks for each program

4-H Alberta is now hiring for the 2026 Summer Season! We are seeking a dedicated individual to assist the Summer Programs and Youth Development Coordinator for the spring and summer seasons. In this position, you will spend your summer supporting the summer program coordinator team in creating and implementing the 2026 4-H Alberta Summer Programs. Your role will be to set the team up for success by performing administrative duties, organizing, helping with season/contract programs, joining in the program to fill gaps, and more.
Our Summer programs are 4-6 days long with time off dependent on the programs that you’re working that week. The successful candidate will be creative, compassionate, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. One or more years of 4-H Summer Programs experience is considered an asset.
- Provide administrative support to the Summer Programs
- Support the development, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of safe and inclusive summer programs
- Take photos and manage camps social media
- Work with fellow 4-H Alberta staff to successfully implement 4-H Alberta Summer Programs
- Prepare an evaluation and summary of each program including an overview of the camp/ program, Youth Leader evaluations, accident reports, health logs, delegate feedback, etc.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Class 5 Alberta Drivers’ License and obtain a Driver’s Abstract
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED (Level C) certification, or ability to obtain
- Ability to obtain a clear police check with a vulnerable sector check
- Organized with efficient time management
