Today 4-H Alberta is pleased to announce that it has received a $50,000 sponsorship from Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) and a group of local Alberta Co-ops in support of our organization and the invaluable programming that we bring to young people each year.
Current CEO, Shannon Benner, who has led 4-H Canada for over a decade, will leave the organization on Sept. 22, 2023, to pursue another opportunity. Under her leadership, the 4-H movement in Canada underwent significant changes, including a complete re-organization, updated governance, and the implementation of a new accreditation model focused on ensuring national standards.

Dykeman's project, titled 'An Innovative Approach to Ammonia in Poultry Operations', proposed the use of Prussian Blue or Prussian Blue + Biochar as bedding additives in poultry operations for ammonia adsorption. Her exceptional work in this project earned her the Bronze Senior Excellence Award and the Senior Technology in Agriculture Award, complete with a $1000 cash prize.

These medals were created by the Province of Alberta to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. We are thrilled to shine a light on the exceptional commitment and passion demonstrated by outstanding 4-H leaders.
