4-H Alberta proudly introduces the 2024-25 Ambassadors—a team of 27 dedicated members, with 13 returning and 14 new faces, ready to support 4-H communities across Alberta. In a striking demonstration of innovation in science and technology, Mac Dykeman, a 4-H Canada Science Fair finalist from Langley, BC, took home two awards at the renowned 2023 Canada-Wide Science Fair. The fair took place at the Edmonton Convention Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Dykeman's project, titled 'An Innovative Approach to Ammonia in Poultry Operations', proposed the use of Prussian Blue or Prussian Blue + Biochar as bedding additives in poultry operations for ammonia adsorption. Her exceptional work in this project earned her the Bronze Senior Excellence Award and the Senior Technology in Agriculture Award, complete with a $1000 cash prize.

Today 4-H Alberta is pleased to announce that it has received a $50,000 sponsorship from Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) and a group of local Alberta Co-ops in support of our organization and the invaluable programming that we bring to young people each year.
Current CEO, Shannon Benner, who has led 4-H Canada for over a decade, will leave the organization on Sept. 22, 2023, to pursue another opportunity. Under her leadership, the 4-H movement in Canada underwent significant changes, including a complete re-organization, updated governance, and the implementation of a new accreditation model focused on ensuring national standards.
