East Central Region is pleased to announce that Melanie Nelson has been selected as our Award of Distinction recipient for 2025. Melanie has been both our astounding East Central Regional Treasurer and our incredible Key Leader for the Drumheller District. She is a shining extemporary paragon of what it means to be both a 4-H Volunteer and a Leader for our community and all our wonderful 4-H members.
Along with the recognition of our Platinum and Leader recipients, Melanie will receive her Award of Distinction at our Leader Recognition Night on Sunday March 30th at the Youngstown Hall.
4-H Alberta and the East Central Region recognizes the countless hours of our dedicated volunteer leaders!
To be a leader with 4-H Alberta, leaders are screened and complete two safety courses before they can be recognized as fully trained and screened leaders.

A huge congratulation to all our past Platinum Awards of Excellence recipients for all their hard work and achievements thought their 4-H Alberta club years!
Total diary points required to achieve the Platinum Award of Excellence is 320 and above!

If you have not already done so, please log into your profile in the ORS & complete your Online Forms: Leaders, Volunteers, Supporters, and Members must complete all online forms plus update their profiles by in order to be considered “In Good Standing” ASAP!
Don’t forget to check your email address. Many emails are bouncing back. New this year is an activity waiver. You will find this after the Emergency Contact fields. Please ensure you read this and complete with “Yes” or “No” waiver under “Emergency Contacts.”

- 4-H Alberta Brochure is used to promote your club, which is located Resources>Downloads>Club Operational Tools.
- Beef Weigh-in Sheets are on our website under Resources>Downloads>Livestock Achievement.
- You can add members and projects throughout the year, providing members can meet all the project’s minimum requirements, the club, and 4-H Alberta.
- If your last screening year was 2021-22 or before, you are due to rescreen for our 2024-25 club year.
- Activities beyond the club level (interclub, district, and regional) require an activity plan to be submitted for approval and issued a Sanctioned Activity Permit from 4-H Alberta.
- If your club has a high-risk activity planned, your club must also submit an activity plan. https://4h-canada.i-sight.com/portal
- If you have any questions about what you need to do (as a Member, Club, District, etc.) to be in good standing, please consult the 4-H Alberta Reference Guide.
- Be sure to submit your prior years’ Awards of Excellence Forms for your member’s 2023-24 club year once diaries are submitted and reviewed by your project leaders.
