*Exception – Aug. 20: Drop off at Old Cheesery (4926 49 Ave) for tour from 1:00–1:45 PM. Parents welcome to stay or drop off. Afterwards, youth will return to the Vermilion Regional Centre with leaders for programming (walking, pre-booked Focus transportation, or parent transport). Details will be confirmed closer to the date.

Who Can Attend: Youth ages 9 (born before July 1, 2017)-15 year olds. No 4-H experience required!
What is a 4-H Intro Club: During a 4-H Intro Club, youth experience the power of hands-on learning with our “Learn to Do By Doing” program and get a “Taste of 4-H”! Over four afternoons, youth aged 9–15 will explore a variety of 4-H projects including Snack Smart, Get Active & Line Dancing; a Flower Farm Experience where participants harvest and arrange their own floral creation; Ink & Imagination, a hands-on printmaking and creative wellness workshop; and a Celebrate with Chocolate & Cheese tasting adventure, along with more interactive activities. Each session sparks creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking while helping you develop new skills in a fun and engaging environment.
Participants will have fun while building important life skills through 4-H. They will learn how to take part in and run a business meeting, improve communication and record-keeping skills, and work well as part of a team. These hands-on experiences also help develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and leadership skills, all in a supportive environment where participants can build friendships and learn together.Â
The club meets on the afternoons of August 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th from 1-4 PM.

Upon registration, participants will receive access to all programming, special guest instructors, necessary supplies, tasty snacks, a t-shirt, and a 4-H bag. Spaces are limited to 15 participants. Registration closes on August 3rd or when the club is full. Cost is ONLY $120 per member. Don’t miss this opportunity for your child to explore, learn, and have fun!
Parent Involvement: Being part of 4-H means your family gets to play, work, and learn together. In this short Intro Club, parent/caregiver involvement isn’t mandatory, but we do encourage families to attend if able — whether that means helping out or simply observing the fun! You’ll also be invited to join us with friends & family for the final hour (3-4pm) of the last session to celebrate what the youth have accomplished during our Achievement Celebration on August 20th so please mark your calendars!
4-H VERMILION INTRO CLUB WORKSHOP OUTLINE*:
Aug 17 – Snack Smart, Get Active & Line Dancing
Fuel your fun with our health and fitness–themed workshop! Take part in hands-on activities, enjoy tasty treats, and explore creative ways to get moving. Members will create a fun take-home activity and try a new coordination challenge before finishing with an energetic line-dancing session.
Enjoy a hands-on visit to a Backyard Blooms – a Micro Urban Flower Farm! Members will explore how flowers are grown, harvested, and prepared, then create their own fresh floral arrangement in a jar to take home. They will also learn simple techniques for drying and preserving flowers at home. A fun, creative outdoor experience connecting nature, design, and hands-on learning.
A creative afternoon focused on art and self-expression! Members will participate in a hands-on printmaking workshop with Alicia from Spare Button Studio where they can design and create their own unique prints. The afternoon will also include a wellness session facilitated by Kerri from The Nest Project in Vermilion, offering youth an opportunity to explore mindfulness, movement, and creative reflection in an engaging and age-appropriate way.
The afternoon will begin with a behind-the-scenes Old Cheesery factory tour, where members will learn how cheese is made from start to finish. We will then gather back at the Regional Centre for more programming and a fun chocolate tasting experience with friends and family, sampling and comparing different chocolates while reflecting on our summer sampler journey. The experience wraps up with light games, conversation, and sweet treats as we celebrate the end of our program together.
An optional bonus field experience at a working dairy farm. Members will see where milk comes from, meet farm animals, and learn about modern dairy farming practices in action.

Note for Current 4-H Members: This is not a traditional 4-H club. Current members with a diary will get one point for attending the duration of an Intro Club as a Provincial Program.

What is the registration fee? $120
How can I register? Please use your child’s name and birthdate, with a guardian’s email and phone number when registering.
1. Go to this link: https://4habregistration.ca/guest-registration.php
2. Create a guest account for your child (you must enter their child’s name and birthday so the correct age-appropriate programs appear).
3. Complete the child’s profile, including electronic consent and medical/allergy information. All boxes must be filled. This is easier to do on a laptop or computer compared to a phone.
4. Once the profile is updated, available programs will appear (you may need to click the three lines in the upper-right corner). You can then select the program called: Vermilion Summer Sampler 4-H Intro Club – August 2026.

Refund Policy: All refund, cancellation, and club transfer requests must be submitted prior to the final day of registration. After July 7th, all registrations are considered final and are no longer eligible for changes or refunds.
Provincial Event Registration Policies
Payment of Program/Event Fees
- 4-H Alberta requires that complete registrations are processed through the online registration system, by the registration deadline, and payment in full has been received, prior to acceptance.
- 4-H Alberta is responsible for setting fees for all 4-H Alberta programs/events. Each program/event has its own fee.
- All requests for late registration (after the Regular Registration Deadline) will be accepted at the sole discretion of the program lead
- GST is included in all 4-H program registration fees.
- 4-H Alberta reserves the right to:
- Cancel programs due to insufficient registrations or circumstances out of our control;
- Reallocate applicants to other similar programs based on applicants choice;
- Refund the entire registration fee if a suitable alternate program is unavailable.
Insufficient Program/Event Payment
- Registration is not considered complete until full payment is received.
- Any cheque returned by the bank must be reissued and processed prior to the program/event start date. Failure to do so will cancel the delegate’s program registration.
- 4-H Alberta staff will contact the individual requesting full payment in a timely manner following the bank notification.
Program/Event Registration Cancellation
- A percentage of the registration fee will be retained on all cancellations to help recover costs and administration process:
- $0-$50 = no fee
- $51 or more = 30%
- Contact programs@4hab.com if you are unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances. Physician notes will be requested when applicable.
- Cancellations received less than 14 days before the program start date will forfeit the entire registration fee unless a delegate replacement is available or extenuating circumstances are at play.
The 4-H Alberta Program/Event Registration Fee Procedure is subject to change at the discretion of the Program Lead.
