Parent Involvement: Being part of 4-H means your family gets to play, work, and learn together. In this short Intro Club, parent/caregiver involvement isn’t mandatory, but we do encourage families to attend if able — whether that means helping out or simply observing the fun! You’ll also be invited to join us for the final hour of the last session to celebrate what the youth have accomplished during our Achievement Celebration on April 2nd
*Workshops are subject to change based on availability. List of some workshops below.
Fuel Your Fun: Snack Smart & Get Active: Fuel your fun with our health and fitness–themed workshop! Participate in hands-on activities, enjoy tasty treats, and learn a new way to get moving. Have fun, try new things, and boost your well-being!
From Farm to Table: Food Science Fun: Discover the fascinating science behind the food we eat in this hands-on workshop! Dive into food chemistry and sustainability with engaging experiments like testing the strength of eggs by walking on them. With fun activities to inspire curiosity and creativity, this workshop offers a unique way to explore how everyday ingredients and science come together.
Make your own Terrarium: Closed terrariums are fully functioning ecosystems. They have their own carbon & water cycles within them. When the sun beats on the terrarium, it causes moisture to evaporate from the plants and soil. This moisture becomes condensation on the inside surface of the container. Once enough collects, it falls (like rain) back onto the plants below. The soil provides all the nutrients the plants need to survive. As some plants die, they will decompose into the soil, giving more nutrients to the plants still living.
Mini Achievement Day – Celebrate with Chocolate: A Tasting Adventure: Gather your friends and family for a fun chocolate tasting party, where you can savour and evaluate different chocolates while reflecting on our shared experiences, and playing some entertaining games to celebrate our Spring Break 4-H Intro Club!
And More!
