YLEAD

This program trains Senior Members to be Youth Leaders. YLEAD is a leadership development training program that enables Youth Leaders to be a part of ratio for all levels of programming and prepares them to support these programs through planning, organizing, leading, and mentoring.

  • Youth Safety Training: delegates will participate in the 4-H Canada training 
  • Develop skills: leadership, group management, situational awareness, connecting with youth, program planning, and conflict resolution
  • Learn games and activities
*Important notes:
  • Senior Members must take YLEAD + Summer Camp Training OR Summer Camp Training to volunteer for Provincial Summer Camps.
  • Current Youth Leaders must take the Summer Camp Training Review to volunteer for Provincial Summer Camps. 
YLEAD + Summer Camp Training

This program trains Senior Members in YLEAD and trains them to volunteer as a Youth Leader for Provincial Summer Camps. YLEAD is a leadership development training program that allows Youth Leaders to be a part of ratio and prepares them to support programs through planning, organizing, leading, and mentoring. Summer Camp Training prepares those Youth Leaders to run Provincial Summer Camps.

Senior Members looking to receive YLEAD, volunteer for summer camps, and have a week of fun!

Summer Camp Training

This program is for Youth Leaders who have already taken YLEAD and prepares them to run Provincial Summer Camps. It will include Provincial Summer Camp specific training, such as, policies, procedures, facility, activity specifics, and schedule. 

This program is for Youth Leaders who have taken YLEAD.

Details:

July 2-3, the first half of YLEAD will be spent
  • Covering 4-H Alberta Youth Leader Requirements 
  • Learning what a Youth Leader is
July 4-5th, the second half of the week will be spent:
  • Welcoming returning Youth Leaders to join new Youth Leaders at the 4-H Centre. Returning Youth Leaders- Please Sign up in Leader Programs under your Leader Profiles. 
  • Focusing on Summer Camps Specific Training policies, procedures, facility, activity specifics, and schedule

PROVINCIAL EVENT REGISTRATION POLICIES

Payment of Program/Event Fees

  • 4-H Alberta requires that complete registrations are processed through the online registration system, by the registration deadline, and payment in full has been received, prior to acceptance.
  • 4-H Alberta is responsible for setting fees for all 4-H Alberta programs/events. Each program/event has its own fee.
    • All requests for late registration (after the Regular Registration Deadline) will be accepted at the sole discretion of the program lead
    • GST is included in all 4-H program registration fees.
  • 4-H Alberta reserves the right to:
    • Cancel programs due to insufficient registrations or circumstances out of our control;
    • Reallocate applicants to other similar programs based on applicants choice;
    • Refund the entire registration fee if a suitable alternate program is unavailable.

 

Program/Event Registration Cancellation

  • A percentage of the registration fee will be retained on all cancellations to help recover costs and administration process:
    • $0-$50 = no fee
    • $51 or more = 30%
    • Contact programs@4hab.com if you are unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances. Physician notes will be requested when applicable.
  • Cancellations received less than 14 days before the program start date will forfeit the entire registration fee unless a delegate replacement is available or extenuating circumstances are at play.

The 4-H Alberta Program/Event Registration Fee Procedure is subject to change at the discretion of the Program Lead.
