Learn to Do By Doing with hands-on activities as youth aged 9–15 explore a variety of baking techniques and 4-H activities.

Join us for a hands-on baking adventure with Jehan Hajar, Red Seal certified Pastry Chef and founder of Gold Box Bakery! Jehan brings years of professional experience and a passion for French pastry artistry, specializing in cakes, cookies, macarons, and show-stopping desserts. Each week, you’ll bake and learn essential techniques while enjoying a taste of 4-H with traditional club meetings, elections, friendships, and more. Weekly topics include brownies & baking basics, quick breads & muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, and a cupcake wars celebration —all designed to inspire your creativity and share the joy of baking with friends under Jehan’s expert guidance.

In just six weeks, participants will learn how to run a business meeting, improve communication and record-keeping skills, and make new friends along the way. Members will develop important skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication in a supportive and welcoming environment.

The club will run for six weeks on Tuesdays from 6:00–8:30 pm starting February 3 at Hope Lutheran Church, 3527 Boulton Rd NW, Calgary (note – no club on Feb. 17th). It’s perfect for families with a lot on the go who want to see what 4-H is all about.

There are only ten spots available, so please register early to ensure your child has a spot. The cost to register is $120, which includes all programming, workshop supplies, snacks each week, and a 4-H bag. This club is open to youth ages 9-15 who have not participated in a 4-H Intro Club this year (September 2025–August 2026). If there are still spots open on January 5th, we will open it up to allow current intro club members to register.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be part of the 4-H Baking Intro Club.

Parent Involvement: Being part of 4-H means that your family will have opportunities to play, work and learn together. In this short six-week intro club, although not mandatory, we encourage parents/caregivers to choose one date that they could attend and support the club. Families will also be invited to attend the last hour of the final date for an achievement celebration.

BONUS: All Intro-Club members will receive invitations to several other free opportunities later in the year including bonus learning days including Micro Acres tour & workshop on Feb. 21st,  a tour at 4-H on Parade (end of May 2026) and more.

Financial assistance up to $60 may be available – please contact introclubs@4hab.com for details.

Note for Current Members:

This is not a traditional 4-H club. Current members with a diary will get one point for attending the duration of an Intro Club as a Provincial Program.

Refund Policy: All refund, cancellation, and club transfer requests must be submitted prior to the final day of registration. Once the registration period closes (Jan. 12th), all registrations are considered final and are no longer eligible for changes or refunds.
